Walgreens uses this Balance Rewards Program as a customer-loyalty program. It is completely free. You may sign up online or in-store. It only takes a minute or two. You will need this card to score their sale prices.
POINTS
Sometimes some products give you back Points. The more you allow your Points to accumulate, the more your Points will be worth. See chart:
REGISTER REWARDS
Walgreens also uses Register Rewards. Sometimes certain products produce Register Rewards. After you make the qualifying purchase, your Register Rewards will print in a Catalina form. A Catalina is a check-out coupon that prints separately from your store receipt. It has its own little machine on the side and the store clerks usually give those to shoppers when they hand them their receipt. (You may have also seen/gotten Catalinas at HEB). These Register Rewards are, most of the time, Manufacturer Rewards that the manufacturer gives you for purchasing their product. But these can be used at Walgreens on almost anything. (exclusions apply)
Example: You buy a Colgate Toothpaste for $3.49 but you get back $2.50 in Register Rewards. Your Catalina will read "SAVE $2.50 on your next in-store purchase. Compliments of Colgate."
TIPS YOU SHOULD KNOW
- If you pay with Points, you still get Register Rewards.
- If you pay with Register Rewards, you still get Points.
- BUT if you pay with Points, you will NOT get Points back.
- If you pay with Register Rewards for the SAME OFFER that allowed you to receive them, you will NOT get Register Rewards.
- BUT if you pay with Register Rewards for a DIFFERENT OFFER, then you WILL get Register Rewards.
